Erik ten Hag hosted BBQ for entire Man Utd squad but Jadon Sancho was 'blocked from attending'

Erik ten Hag hosted a barbecue for the entire Manchester United team and "Jadon Sancho was blocked from attending", according to reports.

The England international is training away from the United first team after claiming he had been made a “scapegoat” following his omission from the squad that lost 3-1 to Arsenal on September 3.

After the game, Ten Hag claimed Sancho had been excluded because his training performances were not to the sufficient standard, an accusation the 23-year-old winger vehemently refuted in a social media post that he subsequently deleted.

United announced Sancho would be on a personal training programme away from the first team group pending the resolution of the “squad discipline issue."

On Monday the Mirror alleged that Sancho has been exiled from all Carrington facilities at United, including the team dining room - a move Ten Hag actioned to not have a disillusioned player causing disharmony in his squad.

Should the Mirror’s claims be correct it would suggest that Sancho would not have been able to attend a barbecue organised by Ten Hag at Carrington on Sunday for families of his players and staff.

The Mail Online claimed the United squad turned up for the event, which was well received by the players following an equally popular event last month.

The families were reportedly treated with a healthy barbecue, as well as several activities laid out for the children including a bouncy castle, face-painting and entertainers.

Ten Hag is said to have made his way around the room chatting with family members.

SPORTbible has contacted Manchester United for comment regarding whether Sancho attended Ten Hag’s barbecue.
