Some Manchester United players are starting to doubt Erik ten Hag, according to a damning report.

Man United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United on Wednesday.

The Magpies ran out 3-0 winners, with Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock all getting on the score-sheet.

Almiron opened the scoring, with Hall doubling his side's lead as Gary Neville called out FIVE Man United players for their role in the build-up to the goal.

Willock added a third in the second-half as Newcastle poked fun at the Red Devils following the result.

There is increasing unrest among several Man United players amid the club's slump this season.

According to the Manchester Evening News, doubts are growing over Ten Hag's management and there is 'simmering resentment among certain players towards teammates'.

Some players are also 'unimpressed with the general direction' of the club.

Man United have lost a staggering eight of their 15 matches this season, including back-to-back 3-0 home defeats to Man City and Newcastle.

Despite the crisis at Old Trafford, the Dutch boss has vowed to fight on.

"I understand when the results are not there it is logical they are questioning that," he said after his side's defeat to Newcastle.

"But I am confident I can do it. At this moment we are in a bad place and I take responsibility for it.

"But I am a fighter. I see it as a challenge."

Man United resume their faltering league campaign on Saturday when they travel to Fulham.
