Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho has been branded a 'clown' for an incident during his side's 4-3 Champions League defeat to FC Copenhagen.

The 19-year-old started the clash in the Danish capital, and set up Rasmus Hojlund's second goal midway through the first half to make it 2-0 to United.

Garnacho was then forced to watch on as Marcus Rashford was shown a straight red card after a VAR check, before Copenhagen scored twice at the end of the half to equalise.

After the break, United restored their lead through a Bruno Fernandes penalty, with the Portuguese star smashing his spot kick into the top left corner.

As United's players wheeled away in celebration, Garnacho was spotted 'shushing' and pointing towards the Copenhagen faithful in the home end.

It was a gesture that came back to bite him, with the Danish side scoring twice late on to win the game 4-3.

But that wasn't the only incident the Argentinian was involved in. Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro claimed that he tried to scuff up the penalty spot before Diogo Goncalves' spot kick levelled the scores at 2-2.

Garnacho did the same in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford, with goalkeeper Andre Onana saving Copenhagen's penalty on that occasion.

And Vavro was livid with the United winger after his second attempt - reserving some choice words.

Speaking to Danish outlet Bold.dk: "I saw that he tried to do something about the penalty kick, but Kevin Diks stood in front and blocked.

"It is the second time. And then on our track? To me, he is a clown. He has the mentality of a child when he tries something like this again. In an away game.

"[It is] one thing at home in the 97th minute, but here in the first half? I don't understand him trying to do it."
