Kobbie Mainoo compilation is going viral after 'future captain' calls for Man Utd starlet

Manchester United completed a stunning comeback against Aston Villa in the Premier League

Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo is the talk of the town after his performance against Aston Villa.

On Tuesday night, Mainoo started in the heart of United’s midfield as they completed a stunning comeback to beat Unai Emery's team.

A second-half brace from Alejandro Garnacho and a first Premier League goal for Rasmus Hojlund cancelled out John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker’s first-half strikes as United sealed a 3-2 win.

One of the most integral components in United’s comeback was young midfielder Mainoo, who showed immense composure in the middle of the park.

The 18-year-old was praised by many for his reaction to being substituted in the 81st minute.

After the match, a compilation of his performance went viral as Mainoo continued to impress.

Mainoo managed to win five of the six aerial duels he contested whilst also winning two out of three tackles.

The young midfielder also made three clearances and one interception.

Mainoo received praise from United boss Erik ten Hag on the back of the 0-0 draw with Liverpool earlier in the month.

The Dutchman said: “If you are good enough, you are old enough and he proved that.

“When he gets used more often to those games, we will get even more joy from it. Because then his scanning and his speed of action, he can get such passes, three or four passes in and get switches in, and he is the player who can really hurt opponents.”

On the back of the vital victory against Villa, United are currently sixth in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are five points adrift of the top four and will be back in action this weekend as they travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

Last week it was confirmed that British billionaire and INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe has agreed a deal to buy a 25% stake in the Old Trafford club.
