Man Utd told they're 'rotten' because of two senior players Erik ten Hag rates highly

Manchester United told to sell two star players.

Manchester United are still 'rotten' and must sell two star players that Erik ten Hag relies on, according to former Arsenal man Perry Groves.

Man United's four-game winning streak came to a halt on Saturday as Fulham secured a dramatic 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.

Alex Iwobi grabbed a late, late winner to seal a famous win.

On Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher destroyed the defending under Ten Hag's tutelage, with the Red Devils boss responding.

Despite the recent good run of form, which saw Man United beat Wolves, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Luton Town, Groves believes the club are still 'rotten' in a damning assessment.

The 58-year-old, who played 205 games for Arsenal, also thinks Man United should sell Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, claiming they are 'everything that is wrong' with the club.

He slammed Fernandes as 'lazy' and doesn't think he's captain material.

"Manchester United are still rotten. Erik ten Hag is swimming against the tide," he said.

"If you were a new manager going in the two players, I’d get rid of straight away are Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

"They’re everything that is wrong with Manchester United.

"They’re lazy. Bruno Fernandes is never a captain in a million years - I said that after they lost 7-0 at Anfield and he was trying to do his socks or his shinpads or whatever."

Groves added: "The other thing that epitomises it is that Alex Iwobi’s goal was a brilliant, counter-attacking goal - by the time Iwobi scores the goal, Victor Lindelof hasn’t made the halfway line and he’s a defender."

Man United had closed the gap on the likes of Villa and Tottenham following their 2-1 victory at Villa Park earlier this month.

But their latest setback leaves them in sixth place, eight points adrift of Unai Emery's side.
