Kobbie Mainoo stuns Man Utd fans with throwback image of himself in another Premier League kit

Kobbie Mainoo's social media post on his birthday stunned Manchester United fans.

Kobbie Mainoo has stunned Manchester United fans with a throwback image of himself in ANOTHER Premier League kit.

Mainoo emerged as a Man United first-team star last season following his stunning showing against Everton.

He went onto make 32 appearances across all competitions and is a key player under Ruben Amorim this season.

But Mainoo didn't start his side's remarkable Europa League victory over Lyon but made a huge impression when he entered the fray.

He curled home a terrific strike to make it 4-4 on the night before Harry Maguire grabbed the winner in stoppage time.

On his goal, he told TNT Sports "It was an amazing comeback. When I came on, I tried to bring energy, contribute to the team, carry on the energy and feed off the other players."

Today (April 19) marks the end of Mainoo's teenage days, having turned 20.

The star midfielder took to social media to celebrate his birthday by uploading a throwback picture of himself.

But he caught Man United supporters off guard by posting an image of himself in ANOTHER Premier League kit.

He shared a picture of himself in a Tottenham kit, stunning fans online.

One X user questioned: "Is that a Tottenham shirt?"

A second said: "Why was he wearing a Spurs kit?"

A third added: "96/97 Spurs shirt. What the f**k."

Another commented: "Why’s he in a Tottenham shirt."

Mainoo was born in Greater Manchester and graduated from Man United's famed youth academy before breaking into the first-team.

He has played 63 games for the club, scoring seven goals since making his senior debut for his boyhood team.

Even though Mainoo has established himself as a key player, his future has been the subject of intense transfer speculation.

He has two years left on his existing Man United deal as he holds out for a pay rise in line with his teammates.
