Jadon Sancho could make 'sensational' return to Man Utd under one condition

Jadon Sancho could make 'sensational' return to Man Utd under one condition

Sancho left United after falling out with Ten Hag.

Jadon Sancho could reportedly make a sensational return to Manchester United, but only if one specific condition is met.

Sancho's Man United career looks to be over after he returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan last month.

United paid £73 million to sign the English attacker from Dortmund in the summer of 2021, but two years later he was frozen out of the first team squad after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutch coach left Sancho out of his squad for United's 3-1 loss to Arsenal in September, citing poor training standards as the reason.

Sancho publicly denied this, and claimed he was being used as a scapegoat for United's poor start to the season.

After the 23-year-old refused to apologise to Ten Hag and his teammates, he was banned from using the first-team facilities at United's Carrington training ground and made to train with the under-21s.

After a three-month stand-off, Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.

However, despite everything that has happened over the last few months, United have not completely shut the door on the England international.

According to Football Insider, United will not make a final decision on Sancho's future until the summer because club bosses see the issue as being tied to the future of Ten Hag.

The report states that Sancho could make a 'sensational' return to Old Trafford, but only if Ten Hag leaves the club.

The Dutch manager has not signed a new deal with the club after a mixed season so far, meaning he will be out of contract at the end of the 2024/25 campaign. Sancho is still under contract until 2026.

However, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl recently admitted that it will be difficult for the Bundesliga club to sign Sancho on a permanent basis.

"Unfortunately for both players [Sancho and Ian Maatsen], neither option [a buy option in the loan terms] was really realistic," he told Sky Sports Germany.

"If you know what we got for Jadon Sancho two and a half years ago, then you know also that it might now be very, very difficult."
