FA Cup Draw Simulator: Man Utd Handed Nightmare Tie as Liverpool Face Tough Test

The ties for the third round of the FA Cup have been simulated as Premier League and Championship join.

The FA Cup third round draw has been simulated as teams from the Premier League and Championship enter the historic competition.

The second round of the FA Cup comes to an end on Monday evening as national league side Brackley Town faces League One's Burton Albion.

After the match, the draw for the highly-anticipated third round of the competition will take place, scheduled for approximately 6.40pm GMT.

In total 64 teams will be in the hat for the third round draw, with Premier League and Championship sides now joining the competition.

But ahead of the official draw, SPORTbible have done a simulation that has created some exciting clashes, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United handed tough opening games.

Having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Crystal Palace earlier in the season, the FA Cup remains Liverpool's final chance at a domestic cup this season.

However, they'll have to get past a tricky away trip to Ipswich Town, who are currently fourth in Championship table, in their opening match in the competition.

Meanwhile United have been handed a Premier League affair in their first FA Cup fixture as they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford.

Holders Crystal Palace host Derby County in the simulation, while Manchester City will travel to Deepdale to play Preston North End and Arsenal will play Middlesbrough at the Emirates Stadium.

Seventh tier Weston Super Mare, the lowest ranked side left in the FA Cup have been rewarded with a away day to the London Stadium to face West Ham United.

The FA Cup third round will be played across the weekend of Saturday, January 10.

There are no replays, so if matches end in a draw, all ties will go to extra-time and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out
