Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has taken to social media to express his support for Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho amid his ongoing feud with Erik ten Hag.

Sancho, 23, has found himself left out in the cold at United this season after being banished by Ten Hag.

The England international has not featured since September after he refused to apologise to the Dutch manager in a row over his efforts in training.

After Ten Hag publicly called out Sancho in a press conference, the player responded by claiming he had been made a 'scapegoat' by the United boss – branding his claims 'completely untrue'.

Sancho has since refused to apologise – either publicly or privately – to Ten Hag and remains banned from first-team activities.

He is now expected to leave the club, with United reportedly in talks to loan him back to former club Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland played alongside Sancho at Dortmund and has now taken to social media to express his support for the winger.

He posted a picture to his Instagram account of the pair posing with the German Cup, alongside the caption: "Some baller that."

Speaking last month, Ten Hag said there was still a route back for Sancho at Old Trafford.

"It is about a culture and every player has to match certain standards and it was about that," Ten Hag said during a pre-match press conference.

"What will happen there, he knows what he has to do if he wants to return and it is up to him. He knows what he has to do, it is up to him.

"We will see what will happen. It is an internal matter, we will see what will happen."

ESPN claim United are currently negotiating terms with Dortmund over a potential loan move for Sancho.

The Bundesliga club are keen to sign Sancho until the end of the season but want United to continue to pay the majority of his wages, reported to be more than £300,000 per week.
