Erik ten Hag’s opinion on Ralf Rangnick’s only Manchester United signing has emerged.
On Thursday United announced that midfielder Toby Collyer had signed a new contract with the club that will run until 2027, with the option of extending it by a further year.
The 20-year-old joined the club from Brighton in 2022 during Rangnick’s ill-fated half-season spell as United's interim boss.

Collyer has since been a regular in the Under-18s and Under-21s, while last season he made the first-team bench for seven Premier League games.
Having gained most of his experience in the EFL Trophy and the Premier League 2, Collyer has also had a senior run-out, featuring in last term’s pre-season friendly against Wrexham in San Diego.
And according to the Manchester Evening News Ten Hag insisted on attending Collyer's signing ceremony upon the youngster agreeing to a new contract with the club.

A club source told the publication that Ten Hag "really likes" Collyer, whose personality and professionalism have allegedly impressed staff at United.
Indeed, United academy boss Nick Cox and academy coach Travis Binnion also attended Collyer's signing ceremony and took pictures with the youngster.
Ten Hag had previously attended Kobbie Mainoo’s signing ceremony in February 2023 and Alejandro Garnacho’s renewal back in April last year.

While Garnacho was an established first-team member at the time, having notched 31 appearances, Mainoo had only played twice for United at that time.
The Manchester Evening News report added that United have not renegotiated a new contract with any senior players since Marcus Rashford put pen to paper on a five-year deal a year ago. Indeed, Joe Hugill, who is yet to make a senior appearance agreed to new terms back in January.
Collyer has been training with the United first team this week and is set to be named in the club’s pre-season tour squad of the United States amid the absence of several internationals on duty at the European Championship and Copa America.
