A La Liga legend and a former Chelsea manager are well in the mix to replace under-fire Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

On Sunday, United produced a dismal display as they were convincing beaten by local rivals Manchester City.

A brace from Erling Haaland plus a strike from Phil Foden sealed a more than comfortable 3-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s men.

On the back of the result, Ten Hag is now under pressure to deliver better results at Old Trafford.

According to Odds Checker(Odds are correct at the time of writing), former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is the 4/1 favourite to replace Ten Hag.

Zidane led Madrid to three Champions League in a row during his time as manager.

Ex-Bayern Munich and current Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann is the second favourite having been priced at 5/1.

The third favourite to take over from Ten Hag is former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter, who is priced at 10/1.

Apart from the above-mentioned trio, the likes of Antonio Conte(16/1), Gareth Southgate(16/1), Diego Simeone(20/1) and Mauricio Pochettino(20/1) are also on the list.

After being humiliated by City, United are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table, eight points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and 11 points adrift of leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the noise about his future, Ten Hag was adamant after the match that his players are on the way up.

He said: “The three games before we won, and the spirit is very good, so I think we are on the way up.

“The start was difficult but we are on the way up. I am sure when we have some injured players coming back then our side will be stronger. We have to be patient.”

Ten Hag added: “When you see the first half it is toe-to-toe and just the penalty changes the game, but even then we could have returned in the game with the shot of Scott McTominay just before half-time.

“For chances it was very toe-to-toe and also in the previous games against them in the FA Cup final and January it was very close. So the probability that we could win was there in all the games.”
