Popular social media star Speed couldn’t hold back the tears after watching Portugal’s Euro 2024 exit.

Portugal’s 2024 European Championships journey ended on Friday night, after France defeated them 5-3 in a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals.

The match was particularly emotional for captain Cristiano Ronaldo who, after narrowly making it past Slovenia in the previous round, confirmed that the 2024 tournament would be his final Euros.

Popular YouTube and TikTok sensation IShowSpeed has built a career idolising Ronaldo, who he finally met last year.

And the social media star broke down in tears after watching his favourite player play his last game in the European Championships.

The American livestreamed a watch along for the match on his YouTube channel and moments after Theo Hernandez scored the winning penalty for France, he immediately began sobbing.

The 19-year-old also appears to cut his hand as he smashes a glass in anger, exclaiming: “That’s it, that’s his last game bro.

“He ain’t ever coming back y’all. He not playing at the World Cup, he’s about to retire that’s it.”

Once he had composed himself, he took to social media to post his full response.

Posting on Instagram after the match, Speed said: “damn man it can’t be only me whose feeling like this I can’t stop crying, knowing this is his last game with Portugal just makes me feel like I’m dead inside💔 ill forever support this man. WE LOVE YOU Ronaldo and I love everybody else on Portugal national squad keep y’all head up😥”

While Friday’s match was Ronaldo’s final game in the European Championships, the 39-year-old has yet to confirm in he will continue to play with his national team or if he plans to travel to the 2026 World Cup in the United States.

Speed, who real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr, blew up on social media platform TikTok playing various games and apps and comically mispronouncing footballer’s names and Ronaldo’s iconic phrase ‘SIU.’

He has recently made national headlines after an incident in Norway, where he watched the game, led to him vowing never to return to the country after being mobbed by hundreds of fans who attacked him and his team.
