Man Utd 'step-up' talks for second Chelsea player amid Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling swap rumours

Manchester United have reportedly 'stepped-up' talks over the potential signing of a second Chelsea player.

Man United have had a busy summer transfer window, with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder set to become the club's fifth arrival.

The £42 million midfielder joins Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui in joining the club this summer.

Erik ten Hag is not satisfied though, and wants a new left-back to help the team cope with Luke Shaw's persistent injury issues.

For months there have been rumours of United's interest in Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell, and now it appears they could make a move.

According to The Independent's Miguel Delaney, talks between United and Chelsea over a deal for Chilwell are advancing and are separate to negotiations regarding Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.

Chelsea and United are looking to offload wingers Sterling and Sancho respectively, and there have been rumours that a swap deal could take place.

Both Chilwell and Sterling have been told by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca that they will struggle for minutes at Stamford Bridge this season, with both left out of his match day squads for Chelsea's opening two Premier League games.

Both clubs are reportedly way off on their valuations of Chilwell but United's interest is serious and talks are ongoing.
