Bruno Fernandes stunned Declan Rice with his incredible technique as the pair trained together in Portugal ahead of the new season.

Fernandes and Rice enjoyed stellar campaigns for their respective clubs last season as they starred for Manchester United and West Ham United respectively.

The Portuguese maestro will be hoping for another prolific term at Old Trafford next season, while the England international is closing in on a switch to Arsenal.

It could have been a very different situation as the Red Devils also expressed an interest in signing Rice from West Ham.

Had he moved to Man United, then Erik ten Hag would've boasted Fernandes and Rice in the middle of the park.

They might not be teammates, but Fernandes and Rice spent time together in Portugal as enjoy some downtime ahead of returning to their respective clubs for pre-season.

A video shows Fernandes hitting a spectacular volley, wowing Rice, who is seen joking around with the Man United superstar.

Naturally, the link-up between Fernandes and Rice sent social media wild.

One Twitter user joked: "I now understand why Rice to Arsenal delayed."

A second tweeted: "Man United to snatch rice at the very last second. I will be there."

A third added: "Bruno has the chance to do the craziest agent pull ever."

A fourth said: "There is not a single midfielder in Arsenal team that can do that."

Another commented: "You already know Bruno was dropping hints and having banter about joining."

AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Manchester City's Joao Cancelo, who spent time at Bayern Munich last season, also trained with Fernandes and Rice in Portugal.

It appears unlikely Fernandes and Rice will be club colleagues next season as the Gunners have reached an agreement with the Hammers.
