Manchester United have a secret weapon in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko and it could hand them a significant advantage over Newcastle in the race for the Slovenian.
Ruben Amorim has wasted no time in refreshing his squad this summer following United's worst season for more than half a century.
Matheus Cunha has impressed in pre-season since his arrival from Wolves but Bryan Mbeumo is yet to make his debut in a red shirt.
But United's business is not done yet, with a new striker signing still a firm possibility.

Ollie Watkins and Sesko have emerged as the two primary targets, with the Slovenian reportedly United's first choice.
If Sesko does make the move to Old Trafford, it could throw the future of Rasmus Hojlund into doubt.
But that might give United an advantage in negotiations with RB Leipzig.

Speaking about Hojlund's future to Stretford Paddock, journalist Laurie Whitwell said: "Leipzig was one that was mentioned to me.
"And obviously they've got Sesko, so you're thinking, is that some kind of workable solution where each club gets a new striker.
"But that's a little bit hypothetical at the moment, I'm not aware of ongoing talks.
"I just get the sense when you speak to people that the Hojlund position is not set in stone.

"It's one to watch a bit."
Where could Rasmus Hojlund move?
Hojlund drew interest from Inter Milan earlier in the summer, but they have already signed Ange-Yoan Bonny.
The 21-year-old joined the Italian side for €23 million and so Inter are unlikely to want another largely unproven young striker in Hojlund.

AC Milan are also reportedly monitoring the Danish striker but are more likely to propose a loan move.
Whitwell did not rule out another possible move to the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund seen as a potential option given their track record for developing young players.
The German club recently signed Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland and Dortmund may feel that Hojlund can bolster their goalscoring ranks.
Where will Benjamin Sesko move?
Since Sesko joined RB Leipzig in 2023 from RB Leipzig, he has scored 39 goals in 87 games.

He was heavily linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal last summer but chose to stay in Germany for another year.
Now, with Man United back in the race and Newcastle showing interest, it looks increasingly likely that Sesko will move on.
Reports suggest that he favours a move to Old Trafford but neither team have yet submitted an official proposal to RB Leipzig.
