Anthony Martial is rumoured to be attracting interest from one club set to compete in this year's UEFA Champions League.

The France international left Manchester United this summer ending his nine-year association with the club.

In that time he netted 90 goals for the Red Devils, but his spell was overshadowed by constant injuries.

Now on the search for his next home, Martial is said to be wanted by a side in Italy.

Atalanta want to bring the 28-year-old to the club after Gianluca Scamacca recently suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

That's according to Sky Sports, who say the former Monaco man would be open to a move to Serie A.

Martial has already turned down advances from Marseille despite their need for a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Atalanta qualified for the UEFA Champions League after winning the Europa League last season and that may help Martial's decision.

Martial played just 19 times for Manchester United last season in another campaign overshadowed by injury.

With Rasmus Hojlund then elected as the club's new number nine, it is hard to see how Erik ten Hag will miss the forward.

Joshua Zirkzee has also been bought as the Red Devils look to build on an eighth-placed finish last term.

"Dear Manchester United fans," Martial wrote on Instagram following his departure.

"It’s with great emotion that I write to you today to say goodbye.

"After nine incredible years at the club, the time has come for me to turn a new page in my career.

"Since I arrived in 2015, I have had the immense honour of wearing this shirt and playing in front of you, the best supporters in the world!

"You have been an unwavering support, through the good times and the difficult.

"Your passion and loyalty have been a constant source of motivation for me.

"I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you've done for me.

"Your songs, your encouragement and your love for the club are memories that will remain engraved in my heart forever."
