Manchester United fans are furious with the club over Anthony Elanga.

During the summer transfer window, Elanga ended his stay with United by joining Nottingham Forest in a deal worth a reported £15 million.

After leaving United, Elanga said: “It's a proud moment, not only for me, but for my family as well. It's the perfect next step for me in my career.

“It's a big step and I'm really looking forward to playing in front of the Forest fans at the City Ground. I had interest from elsewhere, but for me, Nottingham Forest feels like the perfect place.”

Since joining Forest, Elanga has scored twice and assisted three times in 12 appearances for the club.

His stats have left United fans wondering if the club made a mistake in letting the Swedish international leave.

This is due to the fact that Elanga has now scored more goals than United’s entire front line in the Premier League.

So far this season, Marcus Rashford has one goal whilst Antony, Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial are yet to register a league goal.

Fans were quick to react on social media.

One said: “Did the club make a mistake?”

Another tweeted: “Serious question, is Elanga better than Antony?”

A third fan added: “Wow, Anthony Elanga has more goals than Rashford, Antony and Hojlund in the Premier League. Should we have kept him??”

Someone else wrote: “Just seen that Anthony Elanga has more Premier League goals than all our attackers combined this season. Damn, who cursed us.” A fifth commented: “Anthony Elanga now has more PL goals this season then anyone else in the Man Utd frontline.”

Speaking more about his move to Forest, Elanga added: “I've been here with United and from the minute I stepped out for the warm-up, I could hear them from the changing room. It's a special place but being here with Forest, I feel like it will be even more special.

“I'm really ready for the challenge and I just want to embrace everything and get to work.”
