Man Utd Player Sets Shocking New Record That 'Proves’ His Time at Club is Over

Man Utd were unable to cap off their pre-Christmas schedule with a win at Villa Park.

One Manchester United player has extended an unwanted statistic after their 2-1 loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Morgan Rogers scored twice either side of half-time with near identical finishes, curling the ball into the bottom right corner with his right foot.

Matheus Cunha equalised for United shortly before the break after an error from Matty Cash.

As well as the defeat, Ruben Amorim's side suffered a major injury blow when captain Bruno Fernandes limped off with a suspected hamstring problem.

Lisandro Martinez was brought on at half-time to play alongside Manuel Ugarte in midfield, but ended the match at centre-back.

Ugarte was substituted on 75 minutes after a relatively ineffective display, with the Uruguayan replaced by academy graduate and senior debutant Jack Fletcher.

The result means that United haven't won a Premier League match in any of the last seven matches that Ugarte has started.

That statistic stretches all the way back to April, when United suffered a 4-1 defeat at Newcastle.

The last time Amorim's side won in the Premier League when Ugarte started was a 3-0 win over Leicester City in March.

The Foxes were in the midst of a run of what would prove to be 11 league matches without a win - and eight matches without scoring a goal - and were ultimately relegated from the Premier League.

Ugarte was not the only player to receive criticism from United fans, as defender Leny Yoro was also called out over his part in both of Rogers' goals.

Yoro failed to close down Rogers on the byline before the first goal, with Rogers cutting inside before finishing beyond goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Reacting to the defeat and the performances of Ugarte and Yoro, one fan wrote: "Ugarte shouldn't play another single minute for United btw."

Another said: "I don't want to see Ugarte back in the team."

A third added: "Lost that game in two moments. Both times Yoro giving Rogers time and space on his strong foot."

A fourth wrote: "Embarrassing defensive ability from Yoro. Twice in one game."

While a fifth stated: "Ugarte shouldn't be a Man Utd player in Feb 2026."

And a sixth said: "I'm all for Mainoo [who was absent through a 'small' injury vs Villa] not getting a game if he doesn't deserve it, but being behind Ugarte is a p***take."

A seventh stated: "Yoro again slow to react."
