Manchester United fans are convinced 'this is just the beginning' after hearing what Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said about Jadon Sancho in his latest press conference.

Sancho joined Chelsea on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window, with the club having an obligation to make the transfer a permanent deal.

He's made five appearances for his new team since securing a move away from Old Trafford, where he clashed with Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea, who drew 1-1 with Man United in their last outing, return to action on Thursday when they resume their Europa League campaign against Armenian minnows Noah.

But Maresca won't be able to call upon the services of Sancho, who is unavailable.

The Italian hopes to have the winger back in contention for Sunday's Premier League fixture against Arsenal.

If not, he's set to return to action after this month's international break.

"Jadon is recovering from illness but he also had a knock in a session," he said in his pre-match presser. "Tomorrow he is out but we will see if he can be available for Sunday’s game, otherwise it will be after the international break for him.

"That is it, the rest are all available apart from those players not involved in the Conference League squad."

Once Maresca provided the update on Sancho's fitness, Man United fans swiftly reacted, claiming 'this is just the beginning' of the player's downfall.

One X user wrote: "This is just the beginning Chelsea fans."

A second said: "Chelsea fans, you’re enjoying your Sancho, yeah? We United fans are used to his gimmicks. You still have many more years with him, enjoy your Starboy!"

A third joked: "'We scammed Manchester United' Hahahahah. We all know he's not sick. And this is just the beginning."

A fourth commented: "I remember Chelsea fans saying they got a bargain with Sancho."

Another claimed: "Maresca is definitely hiding something about Sancho, he should spill it."
