Man Utd fans are furious after spotting key detail on Man Utd away kit costs £30 extra

The new Manchester United away kit launched on Monday

Manchester United fans have been reacting after seeing the difference between the authentic and standard versions of the new away kit.

On Monday, United and Adidas unveiled the new away kit for the 23/24 season, which is a mix of green, red and white.

A spokesperson for Adidas said: “We're incredibly excited to return to a design that is fundamental to the heritage of this great club. Vertical stripes are in the DNA of Manchester United, and we hope this bold new look captures the imaginations of fans as they travel the globe supporting the team.

“We have intentionally taken cues from the city itself, to provide both the players and travelling fans with a piece of home, wherever they are wearing it.”

However, fans have been reacting on social media over the difference between the authentic and standard versions.

One said: “The difference between the authentic away kit and the replica is crazy.”

Another tweeted: “The replica looks stuck on.”

A third fan added: “Wow authentic is unreal, criminal they basically put a teamviewer sticker on the rep.”

Someone else wrote: “Why does the replica gotta have green patches around the print.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “I like the colour and the fit of the replicas more, but why does the sponsor look like a sticker.”

On United’s official website, the authentic version costs £110 whilst the standard version is £80.

SPORTbible has contacted Manchester United and Adidas for comment.

United are set to debut the new kit during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, Erik ten Hag’s men will take on Wrexham AFC at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on Tuesday.

After Wrexham, United will take on Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund to round off their pre-season tour.

The Red Devils will kick off their 23/24 Premier League season on 14 August against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
