Former Queens Park Rangers striker Djibril Cisse has hit back at historic comments made by Wayne Rooney and Mike Dean about the circumstances surrounding Manchester City's title win in 2012.
City's dramatic final-day triumph has been a talking point for years, but the subject has resurfaced following reports that the club have been found guilty of breaching 114 of the 115 financial rules they were accused of breaking.
No sanctions have yet been decided and City are expected to appeal if a guilty verdict is handed down, but potential punishments could include having the three Premier League titles they won between 2009 and 2018 stripped.

Djibril Cisse calls out Wayne Rooney and Mike Dean over conspiracy claims
Back in May 2012, City won their first Premier League title thanks, in part, to the late heroics of Sergio Aguero, who scored one of the most iconic goals in football history.

In the past, many have criticised QPR's performance from that day, including former Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, who has previously questioned their decision to kick the ball back to their opponents after Edin Dzeko's equaliser.
"Paddy Kenny should have done better for a couple of the goals," Rooney told The Sun in 2022. "City get the second goal and QPR kick it straight back to them and that's never been questioned - I find that strange."
On numerous occasions, Rooney has also mentioned Djibril Cisse's decision to 'celebrate' with the City players at full-time. In fact, he did so on an episode of The Overlap Fan Debate last year alongside Mike Dean.

Those comments recently resurfaced on X amid the ongoing charges situation, and Cisse decided to get involved in the conversation with a strong response.
The former striker reposted a clip of Dean and Rooney making the claims alongside a caption that read: "I’m not gonna let you people talk shit like that. Let’s have a proper meeting and talk about it. Cause there is now way I gonna accept your bullshit anymore So let’s do it."
In another post, Cisse added: "Is it our fault if they have lost 5 games in the league and waited the last game to win the league???"
What did Mike Dean and Wayne Rooney say about that game between QPR and Man City?
Dean, who officiated the game, gave his thoughts on the events that played out on the afternoon of May 13, 2012.
"What was strange about it, and we all alluded to what was going on near the end of the game, once QPR found out they were safe," he said.
"I spoke to Clint Hill about this before, once they knew they were safe, the game restarted, Jamie Mackie's on the pitch celebrating while the game is still going on, because they know they're safe.
"They make it 2-2, and they just kick it back and give it to them. I said, 'What's going on here? Why are they giving the ball back straight away?' We actually said on the earpiece, 'Why are they giving the ball back straight away here?'"
Wayne Rooney claimed QPR had "loads" of former Liverpool and City players in their ranks before name-dropping Cisse, who was pictured celebrating with a group of City players after the full-time whistle.
"Cisse has come out hasn't he and said he was celebrating with the City players after the game," said Rooney.
