The odds on who will replace Pep Guardiola as manager of Manchester City have emerged.

On Sunday the Mail Online claimed that Guardiola is set to call time on his spell as City boss next summer.

The Catalan, who joined City eight years ago, has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Etihad.

The club are said to be giving Guardiola space to make a final decision on his future but are keen to extend the 53-year-old’s stay in Manchester, after a tenure of 15 major trophies, including the Champions League and six Premier League titles in seven years.

City’s hierarchy are allegedly fearing Guardiola’s ninth year will be his last. While there is said to have been no formal indication either way on the manager’s decision, City have reportedly discussed the prospect of an impending departure in recent months.

Talk has now turned on who will replace Guardiola at the Etihad, with Roberto De Zerbi the favourite to take the reigns according to OLGB.com.

The Italian carried on from Graham Potter’s good work at Brighton, securing the club their first-ever campaign of European football.

However, De Zerbi, who is listed at 3/1 to become the next City boss, left the Seagulls at the close of the current campaign.

City legend Vincent Kompany is second favourite to take charge of City upon Guardiola’s departure, with odds of 5/1.

Kompany, who already has a statue outside the Etihad after a glittering playing career at the club, has had a topsy-turvy time in management that includes a spell at Anderlecht and an utterly dominant Championship title-winning season with Burnley.

Despite the Clarets being relegated after just a season in the Premier League, the Belgian looks set to take charge of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Elsewhere, football legend and former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is listed at 7/1 to take charge of City.

The Frenchman won three Champions League titles in charge of Los Blancos, a feat that will naturally be attractive to the City hierarchy.

Meanwhile, Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann and Mikel Arteta round off the list of favourites to take charge of City, with odds of 9/1.
