Haaland put City ahead with a calm penalty at the end of the first half after Antonio Rudiger fouled him inside the penalty area.

City saw out the game to move up to fourth in the Champions League table with their fourth win in this season's competition.

Fresh from scoring his 55th goal in the Champions League, Haaland was placed on media duty and spoke to CBS for a typically entertaining chat.

Former City defender Micah Richards sang Haaland's name loudly and with hug energy to kick off the segment but then the Norwegian caught the panel off-guard with his first comment.

In a reference to his comments about Mo Salah and the situation at Liverpool, Haaland said, "Oof I'm getting nervous now when I see Jamie Carragher in the studio".

The studio erupted in a combination of laughter and shock, with Haaland and Carragher also sharing a giggle.

Carragher replied, "You don't have to be nervous Erling!".

Richards then interjected and asked whether Haaland preferred Rudiger or Carragher to which he responded, "I mean, I think I need to say Rudiger now because Carragher is a bit of a loose cannon!".

Having seen him sit down with Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer on the Rest is Football, Carragher then proceeded to try and tap Haaland up for an appearance on Stick to Football with himself, Gary Neville and Roy Keane.

However, given Keane's history with his father Alf-Inge, Haaland had a proposition and said, "I mean Jamie Carragher in this moment, and Roy Keane, I think I need to bring my father," he More laughs ensued but Carragher was happy to adhere to that request, stating: "It's a deal!".
