Arsenal’s squad photo for the 24/25 season has got Manchester City fans talking.

Over the last two seasons, the Gunners and City have been battling for the Premier League trophy.

Despite two valiant efforts, Arsenal were left disappointed on both occasions as Pep Guardiola’s men proved too strong.

This season, the pair are the firm favourites to be the two main challengers again for the Premier League title.

Ahead of this weekend’s meeting at the Etihad Stadium, City fans have all pointed out one thing after seeing Arsenal’s squad photo for the 24/25 campaign.

On social media, one fan said: “They won zero trophies so they had to use balls instead.”

Another tweeted: “Arsenal won zero trophies so they had to use balls instead.”

A third fan added: “No trophies won, you guys had to use balls instead.”

Someone else wrote: “Winning nothing. Again!”

A fifth commented: “Nice trophy there.”

Before taking on City, Arsenal will have to first deal with a potentially tricky Champions League tie against Europa League winners Atalata.

Speaking ahead of the match in Bergamo, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said: “It’s different but here we are, playing in the Champions League on a Thursday night. It’s different but we’re really happy, motivated and enthusiastic for the first game.

“It’s a really tough place to come, they’ve built something amazing here and it was a beautiful story what they achieved last season. But for us, it is a new season and we really want to kick on in the right way.”

He added: “We have so much energy from what happened on Sunday, it was great. We have recovered a few players which is very important for us as well, and we’re playing in a competition that we absolutely love, so we’re looking at the positives.”

Meanwhile, City kick started their Champions League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
