Liverpool fans have gone into meltdown after seeing what Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential replacement's agent posted on social media.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, confirmed that he will leave Liverpool upon the expiration of his contract at the end of June during a video posted on social media on May 5.

On Sunday (May 11), the England international made his first Liverpool appearance since the news during the Reds’ 2-2 Premier League draw against Arsenal at Anfield.

On 67 minutes, Alexander-Arnold replaced Conor Bradley and was greeted with boos by some sections of the Liverpool fanbase – although other fans chose to sing the name of Bradley and former Reds captain Steven Gerrard.

And Bradley will, no doubt, look at Alexander-Arnold’s exit as a real opportunity to stake his claim for a regular spot in Arne Slot’s side.

However, several other players have been linked with a potential move to Liverpool, including Bayer Leverkusen and Netherlands full-back Jeremie Frimpong.

And fans spotted what his agent, Jeffrey Lemmert, posted on social media yesterday (May 12).

Lemmert posted a photograph of a road to his story with the caption “We working”.

Supporters were quick to give their thoughts on social media.

One said: "And that picture is in the UK where cars drive on the left. Bring on the good times Liverpool FC."

Another added: "I think we sign him and I think he’ll absolutely smash it here. Think he’s a very exciting player."

A third commented: "It would be nice to get early signings done so we can have a good pre-season and not be left wondering what the plan is."

On May 9, journalist Fabrizio Romano issued an update on the situation via his X account.

He wrote: "Liverpool are well informed on Jeremie Frimpong situation and how the instalments are defined for his €35/40m release clause.

"He remains one of the main names on the shortlist to replace Trent with Frimpong expected to be eventually keen on the move."

Frimpong, 24, came through the ranks at Manchester City before making a move to Celtic in 2019.

In 2021, he joined Leverkusen and was integral in the side's 2023/24 double-winning season, which saw the German side go undefeated in the Bundesliga, as well as winning the DFB-Pokal.
