New information has emerged about Mohamed Salah’s future – and Liverpool fans may not be best pleased.

Salah, 32, has been in excellent form this term, having already netted 11 goals in 13 Premier League appearances.

His most recent showing came in Sunday’s 2-0 victory against Manchester City at Anfield, in which the Egyptian provided an assist for Cody Gakpo’s opener before smashing home a penalty 12 minutes from time.

Although his actions on the pitch continue to impress Liverpool fans, his off-field exploits can be questioned.

In recent weeks, Salah has spoken relatively openly about his contractual situation – as his current deal is set to expire on June 30, 2025.

After Liverpool’s 3-2 win away at Southampton on Sunday, 24 November, he spoke to reporters gathered outside of St Mary’s and expressed how he was “disappointed” by the situation and admitted he was “more out than in”.

He has since become embroiled in a war of words with former Liverpool defender and now-Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, who branded Salah as “selfish” when speaking about the timing of comments ahead of a week that saw the Reds face Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The Liverpool forward was the subject of a £150m bid from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ittihad last summer.

A club from the Gulf state may pursue Salah again, with reports from the Mail, suggesting he could be set to be offered an “astronomical” contract.

However, in line with the Middle Eastern theme, new information has emerged linking the player with a move to PSG, who are owned by Qatar Sports Investments.

According to ESPN, PSG’s president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, has been in contact with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, “for a while”.

The report also explained how a "source" told ESPN that the player’s family “like the city of Paris” and that the “project at the Parc des Princes could appeal to him”.

However, Al Khelaifi has since denied such claims, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

“It’s not true,” said the PSG president.

“He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never considered him, to be honest. We know every club would love to have him, but this rumour about us is simply not true.”
