Liverpool are set to receive a surprise transfer windfall this summer - courtesy of a player who last represented the club 11 years ago.
The Reds have spent over £300 million on new signings in the current window, a figure that is set to be increased further by the potential signings of Marc Guehi and Alexander Isak.
They have been working on outgoings as well, and their two major sales have seen Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez leave the club for a combined fee of over £100 million.
Another valuable source of income has been through the club's academy, with Jarell Quansah joining Bayer Leverkusen for £33 million earlier in the window.

And Ben Doak, who signed from Celtic in 2022 before coming through the U21 setup at Liverpool, is close to completing a £25 million move to Bournemouth.
Players who have long since left Anfield are also set to earn the club extra transfer profit - although the latest development is a more low-key one.
Blackburn midfielder and captain Lewis Travis has told the Championship club that he wants to leave this summer amid interest from fellow second division side Derby County.

The Rams are managed by John Eustace, who was in charge of Travis at Ewood Park last season, and reports claim the Midlands club are preparing a £1.5 million bid.
However, The Sun's Alan Nixon reports that Blackburn are set to reject the offer because part of the fee is due to be sent to Liverpool.
The exact percentage of the compensation clause is unclear but it is enough for Rovers to double the asking price to £3 million, it is claimed.

Travis joined Liverpool at the age of six and rose through their academy ranks across a 10-year spell before being released in 2014.
He quickly signed for Blackburn and was promoted into the first team by then-manager Tony Mowbray, who converted him into a defensive midfielder and, in time, would give him the captain's armband in the absence of other players.
Now 27, Travis has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the Championship for several seasons and has racked up over 250 appearances in all competitions for Rovers.
He was also part of the Ipswich squad that won promotion to the Premier League - albeit only making nine appearances - after being sent out on loan following a fall-out with former head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Blackburn are now managed by the ex-West Brom and Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael, who told BBC Radio Lancashire on Thursday that his club are willing to allow Travis to leave - opening the door for Liverpool to receive a sizeable compensation fee.

"We know that there is interest," Ismael said. "If the price was right for the club then we will see. At the minute that is not the case.
"When a player is out of contract or has one year left, a player will look [elsewhere]. Everyone looks at themselves and are focused on themselves, which is understandable, but we do the same as a club.
"We have a clear idea of what we want, so either we keep our captain or someone matches the price we expected."
