Liverpool 'prepare €100m bid' for PSG player after watching him at Anfield in Arne Slot's biggest signing yet

This would be one of the deals of the summer.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a €100 million bid to sign a PSG star - days after the French side knocked them out of the Champions League.

The Reds suffered a penalty shootout defeat to PSG at Anfield on Tuesday, after the two sides drew 1-1 over two legs in the last 16.

Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones both saw their efforts from the spot saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

After the match, Reds boss Arne Slot felt that Liverpool did enough to win the second leg despite losing 1-0, but added: "Over 180 minutes, maybe it was deserved that we went to overtime. In overtime, I thought that PSG was a bit better than us."

A number of PSG players impressed over the two legs, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola and Vitinha.

Sky Sports Germany reported earlier this week that Liverpool were planning for an 'exciting' summer, with Slot planning to reshape his squad.

And it has now been claimed that they will launch an early bid to sign another PSG that impressed over both legs.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool are preparing a stunning bid of €100 million to sign Ousmane Dembele, who scored PSG's levelling goal at Anfield in the second leg.

The former Barcelona winger was a constant threat to the Reds defence and, at 28, is currently enjoying the best season of his career.

Dembele has scored 21 goals since the beginning of 2025 in what is an incredible run of form, and may position himself as a Ballon d'Or contender should PSG continue to progress in the tournament.

The Frenchman was linked with Liverpool on a number of occasions while at Barca and Borussia Dortmund.

Back in 2018, Jurgen Klopp stated he was 'interested' in signing Dembele after hearing that he may be available for transfer.

Two years later, AS claimed that Dembele would be keen on a move to Anfield if it was offered to him, and a year later reports indicated that Liverpool were in talks over signing him on a free transfer. A move, however, never materialised.

But Fichajes add that PSG have a significantly higher asking price than €100 million for the winger, as a result of his performances and a current contract which lasts until June 2028.

The 28-year-old could, however, be an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah if he can keep his previous injury issues firmly behind him - and in the nightmare scenario that Salah decides to leave Liverpool upon the expiry of his contract.
