Amazon founder Jeff Bezos - the world's fourth-richest man - has been approached over a potential investment in Liverpool, it has been reported.
Bezos, 62, founded Amazon back in 1994 and has since accumulated a net worth of a staggering $256 billion.
He was the richest person on the planet between 2016 and 2021, but has since been overtaken by trillionaire Elon Musk. Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have also surpassed Bezos' net worth.
According to Sky News' City editor Mark Kleinman, Bezos has been contacted by a consortium of investors who are interested in investing in Liverpool.

The group is said to be led by Amit Bhatia, who spent 19 years as a director and later co-owner of Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
He is the son of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, who was once the richest non-richest-Indian in the world.
Bhatia was initially appointed to the role of vice-chairman at Loftus Road and worked closely with manager Neil Warnock as the Hoops won their first promotion to the Premier League in 2011.
Kleinman reports that Bezos has already held discussions with the investment group, but a source claimed he is 'not certain to proceed with an investment' in Liverpool.
The 62-year-old does not own any sports teams and, despite reports that he was keen on taking over NBA franchise Boston Giants in 2024, that interest was quickly denied.

A spokesperson for Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool's current majority owners, confirmed the interest from Bhatia's consortium, stating: "An investment consortium led, managed, and represented by Amit Bhatia has expressed interest in making a strategic minority investment in Liverpool Football Club."
Reds principal owner John W. Henry confirmed in 2023 that the club was looking for outside investment, and a deal was subsequently agreed with global sports investment firm Dynasty Equity to invest an amount worth between $100 million and $200 million later that year.
That represents a stake of between 1.9 and 3.8 per cent, while RedBird Capital Partners are believed to hold a stake of 11 per cent.
Bhatia and his consortium are said to be exploring a deal that would see them acquire 30 per cent of the club, which would mean FSG would still be majority owners of Liverpool.
It remains to be seen whether Bhatia, 46, would ever progress his involvement into a majority share if he acquires an initial stake in Liverpool.
As of May 2026, Liverpool were valued at £4.6 billion by Forbes.
They are the fourth-most valuable club in world football, behind Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
