Virgil van Dijk will lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season and his new Liverpool contract has set him up for life.

Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday to confirm their 20th English league title, five years on from their last.

Arne Slot has taken the Reds back to top spot in his first season at Anfield and made legends of a new generation of Liverpool players.

Van Dijk and Mo Salah signed new contracts to end speculation about their futures while Trent Alexander-Arnold, also out of contract at the end of the season, could yet do the same despite being expected to leave for Real Madrid.

Even the club's duo of newly re-signed senior players aren't as wealthy as club legend Robbie Fowler.

Fowler, who scored 128 Premier League goals for Liverpool and 163 in total, made a small fortune from football and an even bigger one outside the game.

After he was persuaded as a young player to enlist a financial adviser by manager Graeme Souness, Fowler looked after his money and eventually built up a lucrative property portfolio.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Fowler's personal fortune now stands at a handsome £38 million.

If he chose to cash in the lot for some reason, that would be enough to buy more than four million nasal strips.

Van Dijk's new contract, worth a reported £400,000 per week, puts him on the fast track to catching up with the man Liverpool supporters call God.

Toxteth-born Fowler graduated to the Liverpool first team in 1993 and went on to become one of the most fearsome strikers of the Premier League era.

He was part of the Reds side that claimed a remarkable cup treble in 2000-01 by winning the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup in a matter of weeks.

Van Dijk led the celebrations at Anfield on Sunday, gathering his teammates to join the Kop in an emotion rendition of the club's famous anthem.

The Dutch defender will get his hands on the Premier League trophy after the final game of the season against Crystal Palace.

After Jordan Henderson missed out on sharing the big moment with supporters five years ago, it's sure to be a memorable afternoon.
