Three key players tipped to leave Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp this summer

Liverpool could be in for a major overhaul in the summer.

Three key first-team players have been tipped to leave Liverpool along with Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

Back in January, it was announced that Klopp will leave Liverpool when the 23/24 season comes to a close.

Explaining his decision, the German admitted that ‘he was running out of energy’ and ‘could not do the job again and again and again and again’.

Liverpool will now be working around the clock in a bid to pick out their preferred replacement for Klopp.

However, due to Klopp’s imminent departure, some of the club’s most important players could reportedly follow him out of the door.

As reported by Football Insider, former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has claimed that Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker could all leave Anfield in the summer.

He said: “The spine of this Liverpool team may go in the summer, I think Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are the sort of players that will leave.

“And it’s because they’ve seen the relationship they’ve had with Jurgen Klopp. It’s difficult to redo the success that they’ve had with a new manager.”

Reds captain Van Dijk had previously said he doesn’t know if he will be part of Liverpool’s new era when Klopp is no longer the manager.

However, the Dutchman quickly clarified his comments, speaking to Men In Blazers, Van Dijk said: “It’s much taken out of context. To be 100 per cent clear, I’m fully committed to the club. I love the club, I love the fans. It is fully taken out of context.

“It’s not about me, it’s not about I, it’s about us and nothing has changed. Five days ago we weren’t even talking about my contract, so it’s a bit silly but my full focus is on making sure this year can be a very special year.”

He continued: “Obviously, big announcement the last couple of days. It’s been a shock to each one of us connected to the club.

“And I feel exactly what the fans have been feeling at the exact moment and we mean business here you know.”

Liverpool have ensured Klopp’s final season will have at least one trophy after their triumph in the Carabao Cup last month.

The Reds are currently top of the Premier League and are still in with a shout of winning both the FA Cup and the Europa League.
