A former Manchester United player has offered to help Jurgen Klopp land his next job by conducting negotiations.

Jurgen Klopp enjoyed a hugely successful nine-year stint as Liverpool coach, but he decided to step down from his position at the end of last season.

Klopp announced his intention to step down in January, explaining he needed to take a break after over two decades in management.

The German informed the club of his intentions two months before he went public, allowing them to conduct a thorough hunt for a new coach, resulting in the appointment of Arne Slot.

Klopp has certainly been enjoying his first summer off in years, spending time in Mallorca as well as attending Euro 2024 matches in Germany.

With Klopp insisting that it is "out of the question" that he won't return to management, could international management be something that interests him?

Reports in recent months have linked the 57-year-old with both Germany and the United States.

Julian Nagelsmann is doing an impressive job with Germany, but Gregg Berhalter's position as USMNT coach is looking increasingly precarious.

Earlier this week the 2024 Copa America hosts exited the tournament at the group stage, suffering defeats to Panama and Uruguay.

U.S. Soccer will conduct a thorough review into the team's failings, which could result in Berhalter's dismissal.

US fans would love Klopp to become their new coach, especially former Man United goalkeeper Tim Howard.

In a column for the Daily Mail, the 45-year-old even offered to fly to Spain on behalf of U.S. Soccer to negotiate a contract with Klopp.

"After the disappointment of Copa America, after the United States lost to Uruguay and exited at the group stages, I will personally fly to Spain. I mean it," Howard wrote.

"I know Klopp has only been retired a few weeks and I know he wants a break. But if we sat around his villa in Spain, I think I could lure him over here. 100 percent.

"The money is certainly there. So my pitch would be simple: he has a young group of players who can play progressive, front-foot soccer - exactly like his Liverpool teams. And in two years' time he can go to the biggest World Cup in history."
