Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp surprised a Sky journalist with a classy gesture after a devastating defeat.

Earlier in April, Liverpool were hoping to continue their charge for the Europa League as they welcomed Italian side Atalanta to Anfield.

However, Klopp’s men produced an awful performance as they fell to a 3-0 defeat. Despite winning the second leg 1-0, Liverpool were knocked out of the competition.

Although Klopp was recovering from the bruising 3-0 defeat by Atalanta, he was still in great form as he did an interview with Sky journalist Jacquie Beltrao.

During the interview, the Liverpool boss spoke about his life, his philosophy and his career in football.

It was after the interview that Klopp surprised Beltrao with a classy gesture.

Klopp gave Beltrao a signed Liverpool shirt with the number 32 on the back to celebrate the number of years the reporter has worked with Sky News.

On social media, Beltrao posted a video of her holding the shirt with a caption that read: “Full Jurgen Klopp interview on @skynews 6.30, 7.30, 8.30, 9.30.

“Considering it was the morning after @liverpoolfc had suffered a 3-0 loss at Anfield and he'd had no sleep - he was in good form and it was a pleasure to interview him. He was warm and friendly and will be missed massively at @liverpoolfc & in the City. One of my favourite ever interviews in the last 32 years!”

On another post, Beltrao wrote: “@skysports Class! You can watch the chat tomorrow morning on @skynews from 6am.

“He was very 'up' considering it had been a very bad night for Liverpool & gave some great answers not just about football but his philosophy and his life. His wife Ulla has told him he must learn to cook when he stops at Liverpool as he can only make tea.”

Beltrao then posted for the third time, she revealed why Klopp gave her the signed shirt. She wrote: “Interviewed the legend that is Jurgen Klopp @liverpoolfc & afterwards he gave me this shirt. Signed with the number 32 - for my 32 years @skynews.”
