Palmerias manager Abel Ferreira has taken a brutal shot at Jurgen Klopp after the Liverpool legend's trip to Brazil this week.

Five months after leaving his role as Liverpool manager, Klopp took on a new job as the Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull.

In his first months in the job, Klopp has spent time travelling across the world to watch each of the teams owned by the organisation, including Red Bull Leipzig and New York Red Bulls.

But, after travelling to Brazil as part of his tour of Red Bulls clubs, Klopp has received backlash from Palmerias boss Ferreira.

On Tuesday, Klopp traveled to Sao Paulo's Allianz Parque to watch Red Bull Bragantino fight for a 0-0 draw in their away match against Palmeiras in the Campeonato Paulista.

The German's attendance at the match created a much larger buzz around the game than would have been expected, leading to home manager Ferreira addressing the Liverpool boss in the post-match press conference.

Since joining, in October 2020, the Portuguese manager has won a total of 10 trophies, but faced criticism last season after finishing six points behind champions Botafogo in the Carioca Serie A.

And when faced with criticism regarding his recent record in the press conference, Ferreira told reporters: "Today there was a gentleman here called Klopp, who won fewer titles in eight years at Liverpool than my coaching staff here at Palmeiras.

"So don't come and talk to me about being hungry for titles."

Despite winning eight trophies across his nine years with the Reds, rival fans often criticise the Liverpool legend for only winning one Premier League and one Champions League with perhaps the club's best-ever squad.

However, this opinion is not shared by almost all Liverpool fans given the fact that Klopp inherited a team that was far from ready to compete for titles and built it to a side that competed with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and European giants Real Madrid.

Furthermore, Klopp left the Merseyside club in a much stronger way than he found it, allowing new manager Arne Slot to top both the Premier League and Champions League tables whilst preparing for a Carabao Cup semi-final and FA Cup fourth round match this month.
