Liverpool star is now worth €69m more than six months ago as stunning transfer value revealed

After a tricky 2022/23 campaign, which saw them finish outside the Champions League places, Liverpool now look close to their brilliant best.

Jurgen Klopp's side are currently two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table and once again look like genuine title contenders.

It is not only in the league that Liverpool are challenging for silverware this season, with the Reds still involved in the Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Klopp has managed to rebuild his team thanks to a series of impressive summer signings in the midfield department.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch have provided a much-needed boost, replacing the ageing Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.

Szoboszlai has perhaps been the most impressive new addition to Klopp's squad, the Hungarian settling into his new club immediately with a series of energetic performances during the first half of the campaign.

Szoboszlai has scored four goals and provided three assists in all competitions this season and is already paying back the €70m (£60m) fee Liverpool forked out to sign him from RB Leipzig in the summer.

That fee already looks like quite the bargain and that's seemingly been backed up by a new transfer estimate for the Hungarian.

The CIES Football Observatory (via DaveOCKOP) estimate that Szoboszlai now has a transfer value of €139m (£120) – a huge increase of €69m (£59m) since he first joined Liverpool in July.

Szoboszlai missed Liverpool's FA Cup third-round win over Arsenal on January 7 and their Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg victory against Fulham on January 10 with a hamstring injury.

But he could return to the side when they face Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League on Sunday.

Speaking earlier this month, Klopp said: "Dom is very positive, doesn’t have a lot of pain, but we have to wait a little bit.

"So no chance obviously for Sunday, and not for Wednesday, then we will see after that.

"Hopefully he might be back, but we don't know.

"Besides that, nothing else really happened, the rest were available yesterday and fully fit. We will have to make a choice."
