Andy Robertson has been linked with a shock exit from Liverpool and a theory that will concern Liverpool fans has emerged.
Arne Slot has wasted no time in the summer transfer market, strengthening the squad that lifted the Premier League title in his first season at the club with Jeremie Frimpong already signed and a record-breaking move for Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz expected to be sealed in the coming days.
After finalising Wirtz’s move, Slot will turn his attention to strengthening the left-back position with Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez seemingly guaranteed to seal a switch to Anfield when the two clubs can agree a fee for the 21-year-old Hungary international.

Kerkez was expected to compete with long-serving full-back Andy Robertson for minutes but the Scotland captain has been made top target for La Liga side Atletico Madrid which could throw a spanner in Slot’s plans.
Reports claim there has been no contact made for the 31-year-old but a move to Madrid could be an enticing option for the former Hull defender whose minutes will no doubt be cut following Kerkez’s arrival.
As well as losing an influential member of the dressing room and leadership group, Liverpool fans have noticed another worrying trend that could occur if Robertson does depart.

It was brought to fans’ attention on X that Liverpool have NEVER won a league title without a Scottish player in their squad.
Robertson was present for the title win back in 2020 and every other league winning title squad has featured at least one Scot.

Scottish icons Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen both lifted multiple league titles in red as well as the likes of Graeme Souness and Steve Nicol. Arguably the most iconic manager in the club’s history, Bill Shankly, also hailed from Scotland.

Slot will be glad Robertson isn’t the only Scottish player in the current squad if he does chose to depart but there are questions over his fellow countryman’s futures too.
Ben Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and Liverpool are believed to be open to selling him for the right price amid links to both Bournemouth and fierce rivals Everton.
Right-back Calvin Ramsay is the only other player that could keep the trend going if Liverpool were to lift the title again but the 21-year-old looks set for another loan departure as he remains firmly behind Conor Bradley and Frimpong in the pecking order.
