New footage of Alisson’s reaction to the injury he sustained in Liverpool’s victory over Crystal Palace has emerged online.

The Brazilian goalkeeper had recently returned to Arne Slot’s side after a spell-out of the team with a thigh problem.

Just when the Reds thought they had their number one back for good, he stayed down on 79 minutes. Soon, a disappointed Alisson hobbled off.

He was replaced by third-choice shot-stopper Vitezslav Jaros, who made his debut for Liverpool as usual second-choice Caoimhin Kelleher was sidelined with sickness.

After the full-time whistle, journalists gathered near the Liverpool team coach as Alisson limped away.

One reporter asked him how he was feeling, to which he replied he did not know how serious the issue was yet.

Arne Slot issued an update on his number-one goalkeeper. The Dutch manager explained how Alisson would miss the upcoming international break, with the 32-year-old scheduled to be part of Brazil’s squad.

"It's going to take a few weeks," he said.

"The latest is we don't know. It means he's not in the Brazil squad, and I don't expect him to be in the team in the first game we play afterwards."

Liverpool’s first game back after the international break is a home match against Chelsea at Anfield. Three days later, they will travel to Germany to face RB Leipzig – in the Champions League. Before another huge Premier League match against Arsenal on October 27.

Slot confirmed that he thought the injury was a hamstring problem. Despite admitting the loss of Alisson was a blow, the Liverpool boss quickly put his faith in both Jaros and Kelleher.

"Alisson is our clear No 1," Slot explained. "[He is] the best goalkeeper in the world, so it's always a blow when he gets injured. But in almost every position, we have a second option that is also really good.

"Caoimhin Kelleher has already shown that, so it's clear he's No 2. And it is very pleasing to see our third keeper - because Caom was sick yesterday - that he can have an impact on our results.”

Kelleher is a more than capable replacement, with 49 first-team appearances to his name. That number includes several domestic cup finals and European games.
