Alexis Mac Allister has scored a stunning goal for Liverpool against Fulham.

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool looked to close the gap to league leaders Arsenal with a win against Fulham.

The Reds took the lead inside 20 minutes thanks to a brilliant Trent Alexander-Arnold freekick but was pegged back by old boy Harry Wilson in the 25th minute.

With 39 minutes on the clock, Mac Allister opened his Liverpool account in spectacular fashion as he arrowed a volley into the top corner from about 25 yards out.

The shot flew past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno who couldn’t get close to the Argentine’s fine strike.

Mac Allister joined Liverpool during the summer transfer window from Brighton and Hove Albion after an impressive season.

During what was a midfield overhaul for the Anfield club, Mac Allister joined alongside the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo.

Since making his Liverpool debut, Mac Allister has predominantly been played in a deeper number six role by Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Mac Allister spoke about learning the new role. He said: “I like it (playing in a deeper role), of course I've got to defend a little bit more, but that's not a problem for me because I'm a team player.

“It's so important for the players to understand the game and that's what I try to improve every day. Then you can play as an eight, six or 10, wherever.”

Mac Allister continued: “Now I'm playing as a six, which is a new position for me, but it's a position I really like, I can do it and I can help the team from there.”

Liverpool’s defensive fragility was on show once again as Fulham equalised for a second time through defender Kenny Tete.

As the half-time whistle went, Liverpool and Fulham are locked at 2-2 at Anfield.
