Fans have reacted after learning how much Manchester United offered to Leny Yoro compared to Real Madrid.

Man United signed Yoro from Lille in a deal worth up to £58.9 million in a statement signing during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils fended off fierce competition from Real to snap up the highly-rated defender.

The La Liga giants had also been courting Yoro but failed to agree terms with Lille and the player.

According to Marca, the 18-year-old opted to join Man United over Real due to their significantly higher financial package.

The report claims he leaned towards the Premier League side's offer of €9.5 million (£8 million) over Real's €2 million (£1.7 million) proposal.

Naturally, the reported new information regarding the details of Yoro's transfer to Man United got fans talking online.

One X user wrote: "Stop making it look like it’s about money. Madrid didn’t value him enough."

A second said: "Manchester United had to offer more to lure him."

A third added: "Oh really? The Madrid newspaper doing damage control for Real? Who would’ve thought..."

Unfortunately for Man United and fans alike, Yoro is currently on the sidelines, having suffered a foot injury in pre-season.

But the Frenchman's attitude impressed Erik ten Hag, who hopes to have him available in November.

"He expresses one of the reasons why we signed him," he said. "Very mature, great personality, dealing with it, looking forward, be positive. He’s already started his rehab.

"A fire is burning there. As I say, for his age, he is already very mature and very balanced. You don’t get him distracted.

"He knows what he wants he knows where he wants to go and I’m sure he will be returning as soon as possible to support the team, and he will help the team winning games and winning trophies."
