Laura Woods has released gory images of the injury that forced her to take a step away from her presenting duties.
Back in May 2024, Woods required emergency surgery following a freak injury sustained when she swung a pillow while staying at a holiday cottage.
The popular presenter was relaxing on a romantic trip with boyfriend and former Love Island star Adam Collard when she threw a pillow that hit a glass lampshade above her causing it to shatter and cut her in several places.
Woods luckily narrowly avoided any injuries to her eyes but suffered brutal cuts to her face and arms meaning she had to take a step back from presenting, missing her scheduled appearance for Tyson Fury’s heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

And now, Woods has bravely decided to share some detailed images of the injury while explaining exactly what happened during her recovery.

Writing at the time of the accident, Woods confirmed on Instagram: "Just wanted to explain my absence from the telly for a little while, to be totally transparent and avoid any speculation.
"I had an accident last weekend at a holiday cottage. I swung a pillow and hit a large, glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms, but luckily missed my eye."
Thankfully, it wasn't too long until Woods was feeling well enough to return to her presenting duties as she worked with TNT Sports of the 2024 Champions League final in 2024.
But that doesn't mean the road to recovery was easy for the 38-year-old who again took to her Instagram story to share new images of her injuries.
After giving her followers a warning explaining that the following images were 'super graphic', Woods showed images of her undergoing surgery on a large cut on the end of her right eyebrow and under her eye.
She explained that the cuts went 'down to the bone' while admitting that she was lucky that the glass had somehow missed her eye.
Woods then showed the harsh cuts to the back of her arm, admitting that they didn't bother her as much as she doesn't see the scars left behind as often as she does the one above her eye.

The presenter explained that following the injury her and Collard had to drive five hours to see a specialist plastic surgeon to treat the injuries and help her recovery.
In the following images, Woods showed what she looked like after the surgery, wearing a hospital gown and blue hat, adding that she went through “lots of red light therapy” and “Five Guys”.
Amazingly, during the time that she was recovering from such a traumatic experience, Woods also discovered she was pregnant with her and Collard's son, who was born in January 2025.

Since the accident, Woods admitted that she remains conscious of her facial scarring and the bump over her eyebrow, revealing that she is trying a “big f laser” to see if it will help the appearance of the scars.
However, the Arsenal fan warned that the laser procedures she is trying are both painful and expensive and alter the skin so that it is different to the rest of her face.
