One of Lamine Yamal's most impressive records has already been taken off him less than a year after he set it.
The Barcelona star, who has signed a new lucrative six-year contract, has quickly developed into one of the best players in world football and is one of the leading contenders for the Ballon d'Or after a stellar season where he scored 21 goals and registered 22 assists as Barcelona won La Liga.
Still only 17, Yamal has won the European Championship and was named the Young Player of the Tournament last year, while he also featured in the Nations League final where Spain lost to Portugal on penalties.
Just over a year ago, Yamal starred as Spain beat England 2-1 in Berlin and he achieved his own piece of history after beating Pele's record and becoming the youngest player to win an international tournament.

Pele won the World Cup aged 17 years and 249 days old in 1958, scoring twice against Sweden in the final.
Yamal was just one day older than 17 when he lifted the silverware but he appears to have been usurped less than a year later.
How was Lamine Yama's record beaten?
On Sunday night Mexico beat the United States 2-1 to win the CONCACAF Gold Cup, with goals from Raul Jimenez and Edson Alvarez after Chris Richards opened the scoring at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

A member of the squad was pint-sized prospect Gilberto Mora, who started the final aged 16 for his third appearance of the tournament and became the youngest player to win an international trophy.
Mora had already set the record for being Mexico's youngest ever debutant against Saudi Arabia in the quarter final and registered an assist against Honduras in the semi final to make more history.

He has also made huge waves at club level with Tijuana and is both the youngest player to score and assist in Liga MX, doing so aged just 15.

“He is making history," El Tri manager Javier Aguirre said on Mora.
"Mora has a great mentality, he is a valuable asset for us. He’s well-mannered, respectful, and eager to learn. He passed the test in his debut."
