Lamine Yamal and Barcelona teammates set for staggering bonus if Real Madrid lose as contract clause revealed

Barcelona are reportedly set to reward their players.

Lamine Yamal and his Barcelona teammates could be set to receive a large bonus if Real Madrid lose on Wednesday night.

Barcelona have already won two trophies during Hansi Flick's first campaign as manager, having clinched the Supercopa de Espana and the Copa del Rey.

Looking ahead, they are inches away from securing the La Liga title as they currently hold a seven-point lead over rivals Madrid at the top of the table.

If Madrid are beaten by Mallorca at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night, Barcelona will become champions before they take on Espanyol on Thursday night.

With the La Liga title set to be wrapped up this week, Barcelona's players could be set for another bonus.

As reported by AS, club president Joan Laporta stated that Barca players would be rewarded with a bonus after their Supercopa de Espana triumph back in January.

In addition, the report claimed that the club will have already sanctioned bonuses for players within their contracts, which usually amount to around €1 million and include winning other trophies such as the Copa del Rey, Champions League or La Liga.

However, it was mentioned that the bonus for winning the Copa del Rey is only 'applicable if it is won alongside another title, meaning that if only the cup is won, no additional bonus is granted'.

With Barcelona likely to win La Liga, the bonus for the Copa del Rey is set to be paid.

Previously, Barcelona have parted ways with millions in order to reward their players for winning trophies.

Back in 2019, Barcelona reportedly paid out more than £80 million in bonuses after winning La Liga and the Supercopa de Espana.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Barcelona paid out £82.1 million in collective bonuses for their triumphs.

It was claimed that the total was £1.78 million lower than the amount paid out in 2018, but was £2.7 million more than what the players received for winning the treble in 2015.

Back in 2018, SPORT journalist Javier Miguel revealed the expected bonus structure at the club for winning La Liga.

As per Bleacher Report, he said: "The cracks of the team, such as Lionel Messi and Neymar, will earn bonuses of between 750,000 euros and one million euros in the case of a La Liga win.

"Second-tier players - in terms of contracts - like Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Luis Suarez and Dani Alves will collect around 650,000 euros. And from there it carries on reducing, with the lesser-used players on a 300,000 euros bonus."
