Kate Abdo apologises to Thierry Henry after awkwardly interrupting his touching Valentine's Day story

Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards were on the CBS Sports panel for the Champions League.

Kate Abdo had to apologise to Thierry Henry after interrupting his Valentine’s Day story.

On Wednesday night, Abdo and Henry were alongside Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards as they fronted CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League round of 16 matches.

The quartet have quickly become fans’ favourites due to their on-screen relationship.

During the coverage, the group spoke about Valentine’s Day when Abdo introduced the pundits for the show.

Richards started by asking Abdo whether she got a Valentine’s Day card and the presenter said that she received roses from her partner instead.

After chatting to former Liverpool defender Carragher, Abdo then asked former Arsenal man Henry whether he had a special someone for Valentine’s Day.

The Frenchman said: “It was a special one for me because I got a happy Valentine's from my kids this morning.”

At this point, Abdo interrupted and said: “That's what you said last year.”

Carragher and Richards burst into laughter as Henry was left momentarily stunned.

Henry then continued: “No, no, no, three of them, little video message because they were not with me, last year they were with me, but this year was different.

“I got a little video, that was very nice.”

Abdo then apologised to Henry, she said: “Sorry to interrupt you,” to which the former striker replied: “You do it all the time so I'm used to it.”

On the pitch, the shock of the night happened in Rome as Lazio stunned German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich after a Ciro Immobile penalty sealed a 1-0 victory for Maurizio Sarri’s side.

At the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint Germain recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe and Bradley Barcola.

Next week, the likes of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona will be in action as the last 16 of the Champions League continues.
