A body language expert has given their thoughts on Jermaine Jenas' final appearance on The One Show shortly before he was sacked by the BBC.

On Thursday, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jenas was sacked from his presenting duties for both The One Show and Match of the Day after an internal investigation into "inappropriate behaviour."

Four weeks prior to the announcement that he would no longer be a part of the presenting line-up for the show, Jenas made his final appearance on The One Show alongside former co-host Alex Jones.

And now, an expert has analysed his body language in the July 22 episode to see if it may offer some insight into this behaviours while working with the organisation.

Speaking to the Mirror, body language analyst Judi James said: "Jermaine the performer seems to have two key body language modes, the cockier, self-assured and authoritative sports pundit and then this more polite and passive-looking sofa-based presenter on The One Show.

"He is in perfect daytime TV mode here, letting Alex take the lead and sitting with his eyes widened, brows raised and his hands tucked between his legs to appear relatively submissive." Judi went on to add: "His signals all seem to work well for the dynamics of the show here, there's no sign here of him trying to upstage Alex or the guests as some presenters like to.

Jenas is yet to release an official response to the news, but was live on air with talkSPORT when the news broke and gave a brief reaction to the news.

He said: "I can't really talk about, I am not happy about but as it stands I'm going to have to let my lawyers deal with it. There's two sides to every story."

Some rumours have suggested that the reason for Jenas' dismissal was due to unsolicited texts sent by the former presenter to a female member of staff working for The One Show but Jenas refused to when asked live on talkSPORT.

In an official statement responding to the news talkSPORT told SPORTbible: "We were made aware of a breaking news story involving Jermaine Jenas as he went on air for a one-off presenting slot on talkSPORT Drive.

"We made a decision - with Jermaine - that he should continue to present the show.

"Given the array of serious allegations being reported as the story continues to evolve, it's for Jermaine as a private individual to address them in the way he chooses.

"There are no plans for Jermaine to broadcast as a presenter on talkSPORT in the immediate future."
