Matt Le Tissier has become well known on social media for his conspiracy theories - and his latest one has drawn the ire of his former Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling.

The pair spent many years together on Sky's flagship programme, which keeps you up to date as the goals go in on Saturdays across the football pyramid.

Stelling left Soccer Saturday at the end of last season following 25 years in the job, and will become talkSPORT's breakfast show host from December.

Southampton legend Le Tissier, meanwhile, left Sky Sports and Soccer Saturday in August 2020, and his media work since then has been sporadic appearances on GB News.

Since leaving Sky Sports, Le Tissier has been more well know for his comments on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, regarding conspiracy theories.

Subjects he has waded into include the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but he had now turned his attentions to the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The 22nd anniversary of the destruction of the World Trade Centre in New York is now only a matter of days away.

On September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda hijacked four planes in total, with two later crashing into the Twin Towers, another into the Pentagon and another in a field in Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 people in the process.

Le Tissier shared a video post on his X account suggesting the terrorist attack was a conspiracy orchestrated by the United States government, rather than Al-Qaeda terrorists, and commented: "What a thread".

But Stelling has responded on the social media platform, completely refute Le Tissier's suggestions by branding them as 'bulls***'.

Responding to a user in a bid to clarify his stance, Stelling wrote: "Let’s get this clear - what Tiss says in this case is bulls*** !!"

It followed him making an initial comment which could have been construed as him agreeing with Le Tissier, Stelling categorically refuted this, writing: "Sorry if there was any ambiguity. I disagree with Tiss 100 per cent."
