Football fans have a lot to say after seeing Ivan Toney's latest goal for Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli.

After a whirlwind transfer saga on deadline day of the summer window, former Brentford star Toney made a shock move to Saudi Arabia to join Al Ahli in August.

Since arriving at his new club, the Englishman has massively impressed fans, scoring 11 goals and assisting three across 18 appearances.

But, after a clip of his latest goal for Al Ahli went viral online, fans have all pointed out one particular thing about his time in the Saudi Pro League.

On Friday afternoon, Al Ahli claimed a comfortable 2-0 win away from home against Damac, making it four wins in five for the Saudi club.

It didn't take long for Toney to make his mark on the match, as he opened the scoring after just four minutes, but fans were far from impressed.

A series of errors from Damac's defenders and goalkeeper Florin Nita handed Toney a tap in shot at an open goal, which he comfortably put away.

Reacting to a clip of the goal on X, one fan wrote: "400k a week to play against that what a jolly up."

While one added: "One goal? He's playing in the most overly indulgent league in football's history... I could score once in 90 minutes over there."

And another claimed: "A premier league striker playing in the equivalent of National League South….. unsurprising."

Having scored 72 goals during his time with Brentford, it will still take some time for Toney to make his time at Al Ahli the most prolific spell of his career so far.

However, his record so far in the Saudi Pro League would suggest that he will almost certainly achieve this if he remains at the club for a couple of years.

Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed a similar uptake in goalscoring form after he joined fellow Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr following the termination of his Manchester United contract in 2022.

Across the 54 games during his second spell with United, the legendary striker scored just 27 goals whereas his first complete season in Saudi Arabia saw him break the league record with 44 goals in 45 games.
