Harry Kane names former Liverpool star as the most underrated player he has played against

Bayern Munich and England star Harry Kane has named the most underrated player he has played against.

Harry Kane has named a former Liverpool star as the most underrated player he has played against.

England captain Kane left the Premier League last summer when he moved from Tottenham Hotspur to German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Since moving to Bavaria, the striker has been in prolific form as he has managed 44 goals and 12 assists in 45 matches across all competitions.

This week, Kane picked some of his favourite players during an interview with GOAL.

When asked to name the first player that comes to his mind when hearing the word ‘speed’, Kane chose England teammate Kyle Walker.

The Englishman picked Bayern teammate Jamal Musial for ‘potential’ and named Cristiano Ronaldo as his ultimate big game player.

When asked about the most underrated player, Kane proceeded to name former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Henderson spent more than 10 years as a Liverpool player and was appointed captain of the club after Steven Gerrard departed in 2015.

Since then, the former Sunderland midfielder has become one of the club’s most successful captains as he lifted the Champions League, Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and FA Community Shield as the skipper.

Last summer, Henderson left Liverpool for the Middle East after he signed for Saudi Professional League side Al Ettifaq, who are managed by Reds legend Gerrard.

However, after just six months, Henderson made a return to European football when he left Al Ettifaq for Dutch side Ajax.

In 11 appearances across all competitions, the 33-year-old managed three assists but is yet to find the back of the net for his new club.

Speaking recently about his chances of featuring in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for EURO 2024, Henderson said: “It's always a privilege for me to play for my country and I want to do that as long as possible but ultimately I've got to focus on my job here and if I'm doing that well and performing well then that gives me the best possible opportunity to get in the England squad.”
