Gary Neville ruthlessly mocked Pep Guardiola with a brutal social media post after Salford City drew Manchester City in the FA Cup third round.

Monday's FA Cup third round draw mustered up some huge ties, including Salford's trip to defending Premier League champions Man City.

The League Two side may fancy their chances amid the Blues' miserable poor run of form.

Pep Guardiola's team have lost four league games in a row and have also suffered defeats to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and Sporting in the Champions League.

Arne Slot's Liverpool condemned Man City to their latest setback last Sunday as the home fans taunted Guardiola during the Anfield clash.

Liverpool fans chanted: "Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning."

And Neville rubbed salt into Man City's wounds with a merciless post on X.

"He’s getting sacked in the morning," the Manchester United legend wrote while tagging Salford's official X account.

Guardiola responded to the sacked taunts by holding up six fingers indicating the number of league titles he has won at Man City.

Speaking after the game, he said: "I didn't expect that at Anfield.

"I didn't expect it from the people from Liverpool but it's fine, it's part of the game, and I understand completely.

"We've had incredible battles together. I have a respect for them.

"All the stadiums want to sack me, it started at Brighton [on 9 November]," added Guardiola, who signed a new two-year contract extension last month.

"Maybe they are right with the results we've been having."

Man City have gone seven games across all competitions without a victory.

They find themselves 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool at this early stage.

Kyle Walker, who started his side's defeat at Liverpool, penned an open letter to Man City fans in wake of their crushing defeat.

He said: "We know our recent performances haven't been up to the standard we expect, and we're aware it's been tough.

"But we've been through these challenges before, together, and we'll come through this one as well.

"It's important that we all stay together as one club, as Manchester City, through this tough spell.

"Your support, whether in the good times or the difficult moments, means everything to us."

Man City resume their league campaign on Wednesday when they host Nottingham Forest.
