Michael Olise is doing things his own way at his first ever World Cup having failed to sign a contract which virtually every top-flight footballers have.
The Bayern Munich winger has been in electric form for France in the showpiece in North America, providing five assists in four games for Les Bleus and further cementing himself as one of the best players in world football at present.
Olise, who is preparing for a round of 16 clash with Paraguay in Philadelphia, is well and truly a contender for the 2026 Ballon d'Or after an excellent season with Bayern brought 25 goals and 28 assists.
The former Reading and Crystal Palaces star has his own unique swagger on the pitch and his nonchalant style even extends to his choice of boots.

Olise regularly matches his footwear to the kit he wears, something which he did at Palace and continues to do on the biggest stage.
Nike boots are his go-to but he has also sported Adidas classics on occasion and even a pair of New Balance.
That is because Olise has still not signed a sponsorship deal with any major sports brand and does not intend to.
In a piece for French newspaper L'Equipe, the topic of Olise's boot sponsor came up, with a source stating: "He doesn’t have one, it doesn’t interest him at all".
Uninterested in the commercial benefits, free agency means Olise can wear whatever boots he wants.
While Nike talent like his teammate Kylian Mbappe are sporting the newest designs at the World Cup, he is wearing older colourways because of the creative freedom he has.
Olise often sports Hypervenom boots from Nike but is also prone to wearing Nike Mercurial Superfly cleats.
The lack of boots deal is almost unheard of for a footballer of Olise's level and he has to be the most high-profile player who is a free agent in that department.
Kylian Mbappe could follow Michael Olise into boots free agency
Olise was recently spotted wearing a prototype pair of white Nike boots which have not been released but he was recently linked to Adidas.
At an Adidas event in New York during the World Cup, the company's CEO Bjorn Gulden expressed his interest in signing Olise to the three-striped brand.
While Olise doesn't have a deal, Mbappe has been a Nike athlete since he was just eight years of age and has his own signature edition boots.
However, he too could soon be joining Olise in free agency as his 19-year partnership is due to expire this summer.
In March, Le Parisien reported that the chances of Mbappe extending the contract were slim and both Adidas and Under Armour are circling.
It has been reported that he earns $14 million from wearing Nike's boots but any new deal with the swoosh brand - or signing with rivals - will almost definitely be more lucrative.
His Real Madrid teammate Rodrygo Goes swapped Nike for Adidas recently but Mbappe following suit would come as a huge shock given he is one of the faces of the brand and his association has been so extensive.
