France have made unique World Cup history as they progressed to the round of 16 after beating Sweden 3-0.
Didier Deschamps' side continued their fine form in the competition to this point as they secured their fourth straight victory after beating Iraq, Norway, and Senegal in the group stage.
Les Bleus will now face Paraguay in the next round after the South American side shocked Germany by beating the European side on penalties, the first time the four-time champions have been eliminated in such a manner at the World Cup.
France secured the 3-0 win with Bradley Barcola getting a goal, while Kylian Mbappe got a brace to go joint top in the race for the golden boot.

Yet, as they secured their progression to the next round of the competition by easily making their way past Sweden, France managed to set two unique records.

Les Bleus became the first nation in the competition to have won seven in a row against UEFA sides, with it likely they will have to extend this record if they want to win the trophy on July 19.
The omens seem to be pointing to France lifting the trophy by the end of the competition, as they won all of their group stage matches in a major tournament for the first time since the 1998 FIFA World Cup, when they would go on to secure the championship for the first time.
While Didier Deschamps' side also became the first side to have scored three goals in five consecutive matches at the World Cup, seeing them make another piece of history at this tournament.
Meanwhile, the two-time World Cup winners will also have been pleased to secure their first-ever victory against Sweden at a major tournament, having drawn 1-1 at Euro 1992 and then suffering a 2-0 defeat to the Swedes at Euro 2012, thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sebastian Larsson.
